
Do You NEED to Listen to ALL the Marketing Gurus to be Successful?
In one of the many groups I follow, someone recently asked if they had to listen to all the marketing gurus out there in order to be successful.
To simply answer – absolutely not.
Today, we’re talking why you definitely shouldn’t be listening to every marketing guru out there.
Listen, I’ve been there.
When I first started out, I signed up for all the marketing newsletters and groups possible. I mean, this is my industry so naturally, I thought I needed to know everything that was going on.
But here’s what I learned- following everyone’s advice will cause confusion to the max.
Seriously.
There are hundreds of strategies that you can try, but not every one of them will work for you. After all, nothing is set in stone. So be sure to follow only what feels good to you.
So what happens if you listen to them all and now you’re feeling overwhelmed?
First and foremost, do not give up. Most people tend to shut down when they are overwhelmed, but that is NOT what you should do.
Instead, take a step back. Snooze those groups/people for 30 days, unsubscribe to those that just don’t feel right. Take a second to relax and ease your mind. Just 5 minutes of meditation can bring you more clarity than looking at all of the posts, emails, or advice.
People can easily sense when you are forcing the energy towards something that doesn’t resonate within you. So you have to follow the ones that fill your fire.
I mean, who wants to run a boring business that fits the mold?
So the bottom line here is to always be yourself and if it doesn’t feel good, it’s not right. Follow those who fuel your passion.
