How to Stay OUT of Facebook Jail
Alright. So there’s a rumor going around regarding your personal facebook page.
The funny thing about this rumor is that it’s nothing new and people still do it. But now, Facebook isn’t playing around anymore…
Today, I’ll be sharing ways for you to STAY OUT of the infamous Facebook Jail.
First things first – Facebook jail is real.
Seriously. I know people who were stuck in Facebook jail for 1 day, 1 month or even some who had to start over with a brand new account. Facebook runs the show, so if you ignore the rules, you risk the consequences.
So what is the rumor?
If you didn’t already know, it is against Facebook’s policy to advertise your business on your personal page. This means if you are posting a call to action with a link on your PERSONAL page, you’re going to send all the red flags.
This rule has been around since the beginning and people sometimes just blatantly ignore it. But you break the rules, you are giving Facebook the big OK to throw your account in jail.
Crap. So what can I do?
Luckily, you can work around the rules by choosing your words wisely.
For example:
DON’T – post your products (or anything) on your page with a link or call to action. Not only does it violate the rules, but it’s annoying to your audience. For example, If you want this new product, check out the link below to order or message me for details!
I don’t know about you, but for me, that’s a big UNFRIEND.
DO – create curiosity with your posts. By doing so, it gets people coming to you WITHOUT breaking the rules. OMG! I love this protein shake. So delicious and PACKED with goodness. *pic included*
Notice how you didn’t say contact me, comment, or click this link? People are still going to NATURALLY comment and contact you and it doesn’t violate Facebook’s rules at all.
DO – Tag your personal page on your business page post or share your business page post on your personal page. This way it pops up in your friend’s feed without breaking the rules or being annoying.
Staying out of Facebook jail isn’t hard if you follow the rules and figure out a way to work with them and not against them.
