Numbers, numbers, numbers.

You either hate ’em or you love ’em.

Me personally, I LOVE them.

But I know a few people who loath them, so I do get it.

Unfortunately this is the harsh truth…

If you want to succeed, you absolutely need to pay attention to the numbers.

Today, we’re talking all about numbers and what ones to pay attention to in your marketing strategy. 

Why are the numbers important?

Well, how else can you tell if something is working? How will you be able to know where in your marketing strategy you need to focus?

The numbers don’t lie.

They will help keep you optimized, growing, and show you exactly where you need to make improvements. 

What numbers should I be paying attention to?

The most important one is your conversion rate, hands down.

This one tells you how many people land on your page and how many of those take action. You need to know how many people you are converting from casual stops into actual buyers.

Now, you can break that up into even smaller numbers:

  • opt-in rate
  • sales rate
  • order form rate
  • overall conversion
  • webinar rate

Each step your marketing strategy or sales flow takes, you can track those numbers. 

Let’s focus on opt-in rates for a minute: the industry standard for opt-in rate conversions are 30-40%.

It’s a great place to start, sure, but we want to be aiming for 70-80%!

Hell, we want them allllllll to opt-in. 

So how do we do that? By testing. We can test different versions of our opt-in to see which ones increase our rate and which ones decrease our rate. Which is critical to track.

Why?

Because the next time we create a new opt-in we’ll know which strategy is going to increase our rate, so we won’t need to bother with those that weren’t doing their job. 

So if you’re like my friend Lexa, who not only hates numbers but is legitimately terrified of them, don’t be.

Remember these numbers change the thoughts of “what the hell do I do” to ” I know EXACTLY what I need to do to make this a success.”
