
Personal Branding – something critical to your business, but not always easily understood. In fact, most people can tell you parts of branding, but forget one vital piece. And that, my friends, is YOU.
Today, We’re chatting personal branding- what is it and what to do with it.
So what exactly is a personal brand?
Most people instantly link it with colors, fonts, logos, and images. And yes those factors are part of your personal brand, but the most important key part of your personal brand is you. It’s how you view and portray yourself. It’s the way you talk, how you decide to look, and your overall personality.
Using myself as an example, take a gander at my video above. I’m a rambler, but I’m also very straightforward about it. I look like I just rolled out of bed because I did and that’s part of my brand. To me, how I look isn’t exactly important to me. My attitude is a carefree message with substance and value. I may not be spending much time on making sure I look put together because I spend that time focused on making sure I am sharing my messages full of value.
So what do you do with it?
The main key is to always be consistent with it. I have specific colors and fonts I use with my website and other realms of communication. I may evolve my logo every once in a while, but even then I am consistent with its presence. I use the same layout with my images and how I speak/write. And again, in my Live videos, I use more of my focus on the message than my makeup. It’s just part of who I am.
So when it comes to personal branding, remember that it’s more than fonts and colors. YOU are literally the most important part of creating your personal brand. It reflects you as a person and your business as well. Make sure it’s something you are proud of.
