Why Self-Care Is SO Important In Your Business
Everyone hates getting sick.
I mean, it’s literally the worst. You feel like crap, your work looks like crap, and you don’t know how long it’ll even last. It can serious just screw up your whole week!
But there is one thing we have got to remember when we do get sick, and that’s to make self-care the #1 priority always.
Today, I’ll be sharing a story of what caused me to realize how important self-care truly is to not only just yourself, but your business too.
It was a Monday. I got through half my work day just like any typical workday. But in the afternoon, I started to feel weird. My throat felt weird and soon my head followed. Shit. I’m getting sick. It seriously came out of nowhere.
This was NOT an ideal week to get sick. I was in the middle of onboarding a new assistant and two new clients. I had a lot of work I needed to do.
So you know what I did?
I frickin kept working.
I woke up at my normal time and just convinced myself to push through and work. Hell, there were days where I was just glued to my couch and laptop feeling miserable.
And guess what that did?
Made me sick for THREE weeks.
Yep. I was sick for three whole weeks! It was so annoying, but the moment I took the time to allow myself to just relax and focus on getting better, I started to actually feel better.
If I had taken the time on day one to allow my body and mind to rest and fight this illness, I can guarantee it would’ve cut my recovery time in half.
So everyone, please remember that YOU are literally THE most important part of the success of your business. Without you, there would be no business.
Make sure you take care of yourself because no one else truly can do as great of a job of it as you.
